Dp-news.maxwell.syr.edu currently carries 40000 groups. It receives a feed from news.maxwell.syr.edu which is #3 on the Freenix 1000.

We do not mind DNEWS sites (or others) sucking feeds off of dp-news, however we would appreciate a note before you start. Thanks.

Dp-news.maxwell.syr.edu should support all major reader applications, if you have difficulty reading from dp-news.maxwell.syr.edu please send a note to news@maxwell.syr.edu. Please make sure however that you are configured properly on your local machine to avoid confusion.

We are testing our new server software Tortoise. We hope to have 50-100 simultaneous readers.
